Cork's history, culture, places, people, and events
The Council Book of the Corporation of Kinsale, edited by the antiquarian Richard Caulfield and originally printed in 1879, contains two main sections: The Annals of Kinsale, which covers the period from 1218 to 1800, and The Court Book of Kinsale, which is limited primarily to the years 1652 to 1800. The book also contains a number of appendices. Richard Caulfield was born in Cork in 1823 and educated at Trinity College Dublin. He was librarian at Queen's College, Cork. He edited the Council books of Cork, Youghal and Kinsale. He died in 1887 and was buried in Douglas.
