Built ‌c‌1830, the boyhood home of former Taoiseach Jack Lynch (pictured right) was located on Bob and Joan's Walk, immediatel‌y across the street from St Ann’s Shandon. Jack Lynch was born at this address in 1917 and lived there until 1932.  The house was taken over by Cork Corporation in the early 1990s and renovated in 1992. It was officially opened as an artist’s residence by Taoiseach Bertie Aherne in 2005. Today it provides self-catering accommodation for up to five guest artists and it is managed by the Firkin Crane.‌
