A photograph of Christ Church Lane showing the entrance to the old Christ Church Lane School in the left foreground. Christ Church Lane is one of the oldest lanes in Cork and is clearly visible on the oldest-known map of Cork dating from 1545. Gerald Goldberg (1912-2004), a former Lord Mayor of Cork, elder in the Jewish community, eminent solicitor, scholar and bibliophile, was a pupil in Christ Church School for a time.
