The Annals of St Fin Barre's Cathedral were compiled by historian Richard Caulfield and published in 1871. Caulfield collated information from a variety of sources in order to complete his work, which took him from the chapter books of the cathedral itself to records in London and Oxford. The annals chronicle events from the founding of the See of Cork by Saint Finbarr (c.623) to the last Sunday sermons preached in the present cathedral before the 1871 disestablishment of the Church of Ireland (Christmas Day, 1870).
